A BRIEF HISTORY

I always knew that I wanted to work with furniture. After a 3 year apprenticeship in cabinet making I took a City and Guilds course in furniture restoration up in lovely Kendal. towards the end of the course I had to do an upholstery project. It was a simple chair, no spring, stuffed roll - but i was hooked! I continued with a BA (hons) degree in Furniture Restoration - with Upholstery as a specialism. After 3 years and a stint in Paris to learn French upholstery, my husband and I set up our business in 2007. I have been teaching traditional upholstery since  2009 and love every minute of it. In 2023 we were forced to give up our workshops in lovely Wooburn, I am now teaching at different locations including in students homes.
